Terms of service
Last updated: August 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of DN Services’ website and notary, remote online notarization, loan-signing, apostille-support, document-delivery, and process-serving services. By booking, submitting an order, paying an invoice, or using a service, you agree to these Terms and the posted Pricing & Fees.
2. Important Washington Notary Disclosure
I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in this state. I am not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities.
DN Services does not select documents or notarial certificates, prepare legal documents, interpret legal documents, or provide legal, immigration, tax, or financial advice. Contact a qualified attorney or other licensed professional for advice.
3. Service Area and Availability
Mobile notary and process-serving services are primarily offered in King, Pierce, and Thurston Counties, subject to availability, safety, scheduling, and applicable law. Remote Online Notarization (R.O.N.) may be available when legally permitted and when identity-verification and technology requirements can be completed.
4. Notary Requirements and Right to Refuse
Each signer must provide acceptable identification and must appear, understand the transaction, act knowingly and voluntarily, and be able to communicate directly with the notary as required by law. DN Services may refuse or stop a notarization when identification is insufficient; a signer appears unwilling, unaware, or unable to participate; a document or request appears unlawful, incomplete, fraudulent, or unsafe; or the requested act is not legally permitted. The customer remains responsible for choosing the document and correct notarial certificate.
5. Notary Fees, Travel, and R.O.N.
Notary and related service prices are listed on the Pricing & Fees page or in a written quote. Any travel fee will be agreed to before travel and is separate from the notarial fee; a travel fee is not required by law. R.O.N. sessions may require identity verification, credential analysis, audiovisual recording, and an approved technology provider. Any required third-party platform or identity-verification fee will be disclosed before booking.
6. Notary Deposits, Appointments, and Cancellations
A non-refundable $25 deposit is required to reserve a notary appointment and is applied to the total balance. The remaining balance is due at the start of the appointment. Rescheduling is subject to availability. A missed appointment, late cancellation, unacceptable identification, unsigned or incomplete documents, absent required witnesses, or inability to complete a service because of customer or signer circumstances does not make the deposit refundable. If DN Services cancels before providing any service, unearned amounts paid will be refunded.
7. Process-Serving Terms
Process-serving orders must be paid in full before attempts begin. Unless a written quote states otherwise, the quoted fee covers one address and up to four attempts. There is no refund when service is completed on the first attempt. Additional addresses, recipients, stakeout time, mileage, special handling, or attempts beyond those included require additional payment. DN Services does not guarantee successful service, a particular attempt time, a court outcome, or that a subject will be present or accessible. Incorrect information, evasion, unsafe conditions, restricted access, weather, court closures, or circumstances beyond our control may prevent or delay service without creating a refund right for work already performed.
8. Customer Responsibilities
You represent that you are at least 18 years old, have authority to request the service, and will provide accurate, complete, and lawful information, documents, addresses, deadlines, and instructions. You may not use the website or services for harassment, fraud, unlawful surveillance, unauthorized practice of law, or any illegal purpose. You are responsible for court deadlines, filing requirements, document content, and confirming whether a completed notarization or proof of service will be accepted by the receiving agency or court.
9. Payment Methods and Charges
Accepted payment methods are those displayed at checkout or stated on the invoice. Payment availability may change. You authorize charges you approve during booking or in a written quote. Chargebacks or payment disputes do not eliminate valid amounts owed for authorized work performed. Any late, returned-payment, printing, mileage, parking, toll, witness, after-hours, or other additional fee must be disclosed on the Pricing & Fees page or agreed to before it is charged.
10. Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated in writing, fees are non-refundable after the related work, travel, preparation, appointment time, or service attempts have begun. Refunds, when owed, are limited to unearned amounts. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
11. Privacy and Records
DN Services collects and uses information reasonably necessary to schedule, verify, perform, document, bill, and communicate about services; comply with law; prevent fraud; and protect safety and legal rights. Information may be shared with technology, payment, identity-verification, delivery, court, or other service providers as reasonably necessary to complete the requested service, or when required by law. DN Services does not sell personal information. Notarial journals and R.O.N. recordings are retained and disclosed as required by Washington law. Copies or electronic images of notarized documents are not retained solely as part of a notarial transaction except as permitted or required by law.
12. No Guarantee of Legal Effect or Outcome
DN Services verifies identity and performs authorized acts; it does not guarantee the truth, legality, enforceability, recording, filing, acceptance, or effect of any document, nor the result of any legal, real-estate, financial, immigration, or court matter.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DN Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, missed deadlines, or decisions made by courts, agencies, recipients, signers, or third parties. Any direct liability arising from a specific service will not exceed the amount paid for that service. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
14. Electronic Communications and Acceptance
You consent to receive service-related communications electronically at the contact information you provide. Electronic records and actions—including booking, checking an acceptance box, paying an invoice, or electronically signing—may evidence your agreement to these Terms.
15. Governing Law
Washington law governs these Terms, without limiting any non-waivable consumer protection. Any dispute must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction in Washington unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
16. Changes, Severability, and Entire Agreement
DN Services may update these Terms prospectively by posting a revised date. Changes do not retroactively alter an accepted written quote or completed transaction. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. These Terms, the Pricing & Fees page, the booking information, and any written quote form the agreement for the requested service.
17. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be submitted through the website’s Contact page.
